Introduction to Herbal Medicine
This online introductory course dives into fundamentals of Western Herbalism. We will review the origins of western herbal medicine and its diverse influences, ranging from North American Indigenous healing modalities to the cuneiform tablets of Mesopotamia. We explore a variety of cultures that have contributed to the canon of western herbalism and then explore a framework for beginning the practice of herbalism for self care.
Examples of herbs to use for the health of the nervous system and gastrointestinal system are provided. Finally, we will touch upon the role of plant medicine in the global community and what to expect from the industry in the future.
